Help:AI article generator

From Mockipedia, the free mock encyclopedia

The AI article generator (Special:GenerateArticle) drafts a satirical Mockipedia article from a topic you choose.

How it works

  1. Open Special:GenerateArticle (also linked as Generate an article in the main menu). You need to be logged in.
  2. Enter the article title, choose a length (short, medium or long) and optionally add notes about the angle you want.
  3. Click Generate Article. After a short wait you will see the complete draft: lead, infobox, sections, fictional controversies, links to related Mockipedia articles and clearly fictional references.
  4. Click Review and edit before publishing. The draft opens in the normal source editor with a preview. Change anything you like.
  5. Click Publish page. Nothing is saved until you do.

Limits

To control costs, each account can generate a limited number of drafts per hour. The generator will not write about real tragedies or make claims about real people; drafts still need human review.

For site operators

The generator is configured on the server with environment variables (MOCKIPEDIA_AI_PROVIDER, MOCKIPEDIA_AI_API_KEY, MOCKIPEDIA_AI_MODEL). API keys are never stored in wiki pages. See the project's README.
